Responsibilities and Duties:

An IT Support Specialist, also known as a technical support engineer, plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing an organization’s IT infrastructure. Here are some key responsibilities and duties typically associated with this role:

  • Resolving Technical Issues: Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network problems to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintaining Installations: Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, software, and networks.
  • Providing Support: Offering technical support to both internal employees and external customers, often via phone, email, or webchat.
  • Improving IT Systems: Continuously working on improving IT systems and processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Documentation: Keeping detailed records of technical issues and solutions and updating technical documentation and manuals.

Skills and Experience:

  • Technical skills: A solid understanding of computer hardware and software, networking, and troubleshooting. You should also be familiar with operating systems like Windows and have knowledge of security practices.
  • Experience: Relevant work experience in a technical support role is important. You should have hands-on experience with hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Communication: You should be able to communicate clearly and concisely, using professional jargon only when appropriate.
  • Customer service skills: You'll need to provide support to people, whether that's internally to colleagues or externally to customers.
  • Problem-solving skills: You should be able to identify, analyze, and resolve problems using logical, creative, and systematic approaches.

The candidate may also need a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. English and Spanish desirable
