Maintenance Engineer

·The Maintenance Engineer reports directly to the Director of Engineering and is responsible for implementing the actions determined by his direct Manager and in coordination with by the Director of Maintenance.

·The Maintenance Engineer is part of the team in charge of maintaining, repairing, and overhauling the aircraft, engines, and engine components to ensure that they are safe, airworthy, and dependable.

·The Maintenance Engineer fosters a culture of collaboration. Knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the technical department.

· The Maintenance Engineer develops and implements engineering best practices, processes, and methodologies to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity

Responsibilities

· Holds the responsibility, under the Director of Engineering to ensure compliance of the Engine Management Program contained in Chapter 14 of the General Maintenance Manual.

·Reviews aircraft and powerplant reliability data and make recommendations to the Director of Engineering/ Director of Maintenance/ Director of Quality Control as to corrective action if necessary to improve Reliability.

· Reviews Airworthiness Directives (AD’s) in the chapters ATA 49 and 70 to 80 to determine applicability.

·Reviews Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and other service documents to determine applicability.

· Manages and issue company special maintenance actions by Fleet Campaign Directives.

· Performs cost benefit analysis to determine effectiveness of proposed modifications.

·Coordinates work with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and operational efficiency.

· Provides technical assistance to operational departments and provides support to aircraft operations, engine / APU repairs and/or maintenance.

· Ensures compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and security protocols in all assigned maintenance/engineering activities.

· Studies, evaluates tooling, new technologies, and framework to enhance maintenance operations, safety, and efficiency.

· Holds the responsibility to accomplish other duties as assigned by the Engineering Director in coordination with the Director of Maintenance.

Education and /or Certification:

· Master’s degree in aerospace engineering.

· Knowledge in Technical Operations per Part 121 Airline Operations.

· Familiar with FAA Regulations.

· Knowledge of aircraft, engines, aircraft components technical data.

· Able to navigate and decipher technical manuals.

·Strong communication skills, both internally with the company, and externally with support vendors and FAA.

· Must speak English, strong verbal, written and analytical skills.

· Excellent organization habits.

· Capable of multi-tasking.

Desirable:

· Experience on engines / CF6-80C2, PW4056-3 / APU PW901A.

· Understanding Spanish language.

· Airframe and Powerplant certificate issued by the FAA.

Other:

· Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.

·Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol Screen test, FBI fingerprint screening, 10-year criminal background, check education.

1. Reports to:

a. Supervisor at stations where assigned.

b. The Maintenance Manager at lesser stations.

2. Must demonstrate he/she meets the experience requirements of FAR 65.83

3. Has one + years of heavy transport experience (B747-400)

4. Has previously performed that particular work on that type aircraft (FAR 65.81) and it has been recorded

5. Mechanic duties shall consist of, but not limited to, performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, engines, component parts, and related equipment as performed at line stations, major stations, and shops.

6. Mechanics are required to be able to read and understand current instructions of applicable manufacturer and company maintenance manuals for the specific operation concerned. (FAR 65.81).

7. Mechanics are required to remove and replace, repair, rig, inspect, and/or test systems or component parts in accordance with approved or accepted data and to sign for the work performed. Mechanics must be mechanically skilled and capable of performing their work to meet the airworthiness standards of the FAA and the production requirements of the company.

8. Mechanics will perform the work as assigned by a lead mechanic, maintenance controller and/or manager. The work assignments may be in the form of verbal orders or in the form of logbook entries, forms, work documents, non-routine cards or other documentation. All work and inspections will be recorded.

9. The mechanic is responsible for completing a written turnover log of all pertinent information recording the status of any uncompleted work. If station supervisor is taking responsibility for the turnover, the mechanic shall ensure the Supervisor is made aware of all pertinent details for the turnover. (FAR 121.369(b)(9).

10. The Mechanic will be required to acquire and maintain an adequate supply of commonly used hand tools. The Director of Maintenance can be consulted for a list of these required tools. The Company will supply all necessary large or specialized tools and test equipment.

Quality Assurance - Airline Operations (QA-Ops)

Overview:

• The QA-Ops will contribute to the efficacity of the Flights Operation Department. In this respect, the QA-Ops program systematic actions such as auditing, inspections, document control, procedures, and management evaluation to provide confidence that an operational safety and airworthy aircraft are delivered and are in compliance with 14CFR OPS.
• The QA-Ops will be involved in others typical tasks of the function such as but not limited to manual revisions, FAA letters and related actions, revision and improvements of the QA tools (process procedures, etc.)
• The QA-Ops will be the link between the Flight Operations Department and Safety Dept, providing key information and updates regarding Operations safety matters.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in quality assurance in aviation industry.
• Previous experience in Airlines Operations / preferable Part 121.
• Experience using MS Office
• Must read, write and understand English.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
